Busby Seo Challenge

When our professor asked us to produce a community plan for poor communities inside Metro Manila, my group mates and I decided to come up with a plan for Payatas.

The situation of Payatas residents is glaring..if only they have full attention from our government and if they’d only joined Busby SEO Challenge, they would have got cash! hehehe

Payatas evokes an image of extreme poverty where the country’s poorest of the poor reside. It is a place where people who have been pushed from the margins of society have converged to build their future from the filthy dump site they called haven. And such woes in the widespread of poverty continue to bury a growing number of the urban poor under a trash of social, political, and economic issues and problems. Payatas remains shackle from anguish severity of the urban poverty and its remaining progress is pilfered by incapacity of local governance.

Presented with opportunities for development, the baranggay government can exploit this situation to their advantage to help them move from being dependent on outside help to being self-reliant and self-sufficient. The barangay government is in a position to help the community through capacity-building and targeting organizations that can help them achieve this. While focusing on these opportunities, threats to the community’s growth should be given attention and turned to the baranggay’s advantage through a careful study and deeper understanding of why these threats exist, and if possible, turning these threats into opportunities for the barangay.

Also, if I were to help each one of them, I would teach them how to operate computer programs and most of al how to join Busby SEO Challenge!!
